July 2005 Newsletter
Come see our new patio!
We have added a new patio of landscape bricks and a round table. New benches
are on the way. Many, many thanks to the volunteers who have made this project possible!!! We plan to have the patio fill the entire front section eventually, so if you would care
to contribute, we ARE accepting donations! The courtyard is also more attractive with
the flowers our Second Saturday Club grew!
Surry County has replaced our very out-dated, broken air conditioner. Come in and
browse the shelves for books, DVDs, CDs, videos, and magazines in cool comfort! Our
high speed internet makes computer projects go lots faster, too!
We
are trying to start a collection of Surry County yearbooks (ALL
schools!) for
our
reference section. If you know anyone who will donate old annuals, please
contact us!
The Claremont Library now has 2 new employees Terrie Foster and Patty Hertzler
will begin subbing for the Blackwater System in July.
The current
library newsletter can be viewed, and old newsletters are archived on the
website www.claremont-va.org
We
now keep a list in the library of projects for volunteers. Make yourself
feel good and do something nice for your community! Theres always a need for
Volunteers!
Crochet
Club, for
novices as well as experienced crocheters, meets Mondays at 5:00.
The
library will be closed on Monday, July 4.
Summer Reading Program News
Summer Reading Programs are really exciting this year!
Additionally, teens have their
own special agenda which, when completed, enters them into a
drawing for an Ipod! There are lots of
ways for the kids to be entertained while continuing to learn new things over
the summer. Stop by the library to pick up any SRP materials!
The following programs will be at the Town Hall Tuesdays from
10:00 11:00. Please dont be late! Performers have a schedule they must
follow for other libraries!
