December 2005 – ‘tis the Season!
Cookbooks, decorating ideas, crafts, videos – we’ve got
it all for the holiday season! Come in and browse the shelves for books, DVDs,
CDs, videos, and magazines, or use our high-speed
internet for on-line
shopping or search the web for gift ideas!!
Call and leave us a message to renew your books, or just to find
out what hours we’re open! If you’re traveling over the river and through the
woods, audio books make the commute much more bearable! Kids love them, too,
and we have a grand selection available.
Remember, you can return ANY materials you’ve checked out from
the library in our drop box located in front of the library, and you can renew
or order materials on-line at www.blackwaterlib.org
You can read local
newspapers, check out entertainment for the kids, or ask the librarians what’s good
to read this week! Our new answering
machine makes renewing easier!

information for seniors or those charged with the responsibilities of caring
for seniors. Stop by the library and let us show you how you can utilize their

Programs
Book Club selection for December is Buddha Boy by Kathe Koja. It is classified as a
“Young Adult” book, and addresses the subject of bullies, passive resistance,
vengeance, and dealing with conflict. It’s a good holiday message for young and
old alike. Due to everyone’s time constraints, we’ll not have a regular book
discussion, but please share your thoughts about the book and we’ll post them
on the board.
Second Saturday Program will be Bingorigami. We’ll make an Origami ornament, and then play
bingo for prizes (it’s National Bingo month). Second Saturday Programs are
for ANY SCHOOL AGED CHILD and begin at 11:00.
Story Times
this month will be held on Dec. 6 and Dec. 13. We incorporate books, music, sign
language, and a treat! Story Time starts at 10:00; please be prompt if you
would like to participate.
Crochet Club, for novices as well as
experienced crocheters, will meet on Dec. 5 and Dec
12 at 5:00. Virginia Gill teaches class, and supplies are provided if you need
them.
Library displays will feature
books, videos, DVDs, etc., for the holidays.
We will also continue to remember those less fortunate with Holiday Baskets. Gift cards to
department or grocery stores are a grand addition, or bring your dry goods or
canned food to the library or Town Hall. Donations
will be distributed to families who need a little extra help getting through
the holidays. Donations will be accepted
through Dec. 22
Bring in the holidays at “Christmas in
Caroling with Parks and Rec will be on December 23. Meet
at the Town Hall at 6:00
