There’s so much interesting
stuff going on this month! Mark your calendars for all the special events that
will be happening!

April 15 – 21 is National
Library Week. Celebrate the freedom libraries afford everyone by reading “The Library Bill of Rights” printed on the
back of this newsletter. It’s something
we should not take for granted…there are still many places in the world that
unbiased, uncensored access is not available to the masses.
April 15 also begins Fine
Free Week. Return any library material during this week, and no fines will
be imposed! Get that overdue book out of the trunk or the back of the closet!
Previously accrued fines will still apply.
National
Volunteer Recognition Week coincides with National Library Week and
Fine Free Week. We can’t thank our
volunteers enough for the services and funds they so generously provide for our
programs! We’ll have a “Thank You”
reception on Friday, April 20, at 5:30 pm.
The members of the Crochet
Club have decided to expand their welcome to those who enjoy all types of
needlework. Knitting, cross-stitch, needle point -
whatever is your choice – we’ll try to help you get started on a project!
Earth Day is April 22. The
library recycles all old paper at the

Crochet Club is expanding into
a Needlework Club, and will meet on
Monday April 2, 16, 23, and 30 (no meeting on April 9) at 5:00 pm. This group
is for absolute novices as well as experienced crafters. Virginia Gill will
share her knowledge, and some supplies are provided if you need them. Please
call for details during our regular operating hours, or leave a message on our
answering machine.
April Book Club presents Thirteen Moons by Charles Frazier. We
can provide regular print, large print, and audio versions. Book Club is a venue for exploring new
authors and different genres that you may not ordinarily read!
Story Time, for 3 and 4 year olds, is held on Tuesdays at 9:30 am (except April 10). Children learn American Sign Language,
listen to stories, sing songs, and receive a snack and coloring pages related
to the day’s lesson.
