On May 5th 1607, the Werowance of the Quioughcohanock tribe
greeted the English settlers as their shallop came to shore.

Claremont will once again be a part of history as a replica of the Godspeed comes to our shores to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the initial landing of the English settlers.  We would like to invite you to participate with us May 5th to celebrate "Claremont Day" and May 6th to commemorate the landing of the new Godspeed.  We are proud to announce that the Chickahominy Tribe will be our Guests of Honor for the weekend.  We will be honoring all Virginia Indians for their role in the success of the English colony. We anticipate a wide variety of musical entertainment, food vendors, arts, crafts and much more!

The cost is very reasonable and fees are outlined on the application page. We encourage you to send in your application as soon as possible as spaces are limited on Mancha Ave. An overflow area will be available. Vendors will be assigned spaces upon receipt of application and payment. Spaces are provided on a first come, first served basis.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to working with you during this most festive, historical weekend in America!

Sincerely,

Terrie B. Foster
